Gameathlon 2026: A Big Celebration of Gaming & Pop Culture
Gameathlon is one of Greece's longest-running gaming festivals, bringing together gamers, esports fans, creators, tech enthusiasts, and pop culture communities under one roof. The event goes beyond traditional gaming conventions, creating a space where competitive gaming, entertainment, technology, and creative communities can come together and share the same experience.
The 2026 edition took place September 11–13 at the Faliro Sports Pavilion Arena (Taekwondo) in Palaio Faliro, Athens, Greece. Now in its 13th edition, Gameathlon continued its tradition of bringing a wide range of gaming and entertainment experiences to the Greek gaming community over three days.
Visitors could explore esports tournaments, gaming and technology showcases, LAN experiences, cosplay, indie games, board games, and creator meet-and-greets throughout the event. With professional players, streamers, content creators, gaming communities, and tech brands all part of the experience, Gameathlon offered something for different sides of gaming and pop culture.
What to Expect at Gameathlon: Esports, Tournaments, Cosplay & More
Gameathlon brings together different sides of gaming, from competitive esports and live tournaments to cosplay, creators, and community-driven activities. Across the three-day event, visitors could move between competitive matches, gaming experiences, and the wider culture surrounding games.
Esports & Tournaments
Esports and competitive gaming are an important part of the Gameathlon experience. The event brings players and fans together through live tournaments, LAN gaming, and competitive matches, creating an atmosphere where visitors can watch skilled players compete while enjoying the energy of the surrounding gaming community.
Age of Mythology: Retold Tournament
One of the highlights of Gameathlon 2026 was the Age of Mythology: Retold tournament, sponsored by World's Edge. The 1v1 competition featured a $10,000 prize pool, adding another major competitive attraction to the three-day festival.
The tournament also reflected the variety of gaming experiences at Gameathlon, where dedicated competitive players and casual visitors can enjoy different parts of the gaming world in the same space.
Cosplay, Creators & Gaming Community
Gameathlon is also about the people and communities that make gaming culture what it is. Cosplay, creator meet-and-greets, gaming communities, and other interactive activities give visitors opportunities to connect beyond the games themselves.
From cosplayers and streamers to content creators and everyday gamers, the event creates a shared space for people with different interests to meet, play, and enjoy gaming together. And when gaming takes up an entire weekend, comfort becomes part of the experience too, which is why AndaSeat joined Gameathlon 2026 with gaming chairs and accessories designed for longer gaming sessions.
AndaSeat at Gameathlon in Greece: Gaming Chairs & Accessories
At Gameathlon 2026, AndaSeat had its own booth on the event floor, bringing its gaming setup experience directly to visitors. The space featured a selection of gaming chairs, gaming desks, and monitor accessories, giving attendees a closer look at products that can help create a more comfortable, organized gaming setup.
Among the products showcased, the AndaSeat Kaiser 4 gaming chair stood out as one of AndaSeat's latest ergonomic gaming chair designs. It features a 24° pop-out lumbar support with an any-angle lock, allowing users to adjust the support to different sitting positions. Its 6D armrests, magnetic memory foam head pillow with a cooling layer, and 135° recline with 15° rocking mode are designed to provide greater flexibility during long gaming or work sessions.
The AndaSeat Axis single monitor arm was another part of the setup, showing how the gaming experience can extend beyond the chair itself. By helping you position your monitor more comfortably, a monitor arm can make better use of desk space while creating a cleaner and more flexible viewing setup.
Together with the gaming desks and other accessories displayed at the booth, these products reflected a broader approach to gaming comfort: a good setup is not just about the game, but also about how everything around you fits together. That idea was at the heart of AndaSeat's presence at Gameathlon, bringing better setup, better comfort, and better gaming to the event.
Final Words: Bring the Gameathlon Experience to Your Gaming Setup
Gameathlon 2026 brought together esports, tournaments, cosplay, creators, and gaming communities for three days of gaming and entertainment in Athens.
